This covered bridge acts as a gateway to a tour of back roads in little-known Northumberland county in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The well-maintained, red covered bridge with bright yellow warning signs stand out against the rich greens of the spring foliage. The gravel track visible through the bridge portends the relaxed adventure as it winds away into the forested hills.

A dusky shot of 222 southbound somewhere near the Berks/Lancaster line into the rearview mirror with the lush spring greens blurred into the background.
