The Story So Far
It all started with an FJ Cruiser, a love of exploring, and the idea that adventure doesn’t need a passport.
I’m Mike: dad, web nerd, and weekend wanderer with a camera. Adventure Adjacent is my ongoing attempt to explore the backroads, fix things (eventually), and maybe teach myself a few new tricks along the way.
It’s not about flexing. It’s about fun, gear that works, and making memories. If you’ve ever taken the long way home, you’ll fit right in. Stick around.
If our paths cross, I promise: I’m not lost. Just curious.

Field Notes
We Need to Talk About the National Park Service
We need to talk about the National Park Service. What it does. What it costs. And what gets lost when an administration decides public goods are soft targets.
Common Practice: Borrowed Tools Are the Point
Some of the best things in a garage don’t belong there for very long. This is about borrowed tools and how sharing builds a safer community. #WeKeepUsSafe
