Adventure Adjacent started with one man, a well-worn Toyota FJ Cruiser, and a healthy dose of curiosity. Built for off-road exploration, scenic storytelling, and gear testing, not ego or perfection, this is about finding adventure in the places just outside the spotlight.
I’m Mike: a self-taught computer guy, dad, and off-road enthusiast. After years behind the scenes building e-commerce sites and WordPress projects for others, I wanted to create something personal. Adventure Adjacent is where my love for nature, machines, and making stuff intersects.
Equal parts creative outlet, gear lab, and slow-burn community.
The name says it all. I’m not summiting Everest or crossing continents (yet). I’m exploring the Mid-Atlantic’s backroads, pushing the limits of a daily-driven rig, and figuring out how far I can go without breaking the bank… or breaking bones. Whether I’m wrenching in the driveway, testing budget-friendly mods, or camping in the woods, I’m telling stories along the way.

- For Us Everyday Adventurers: You don’t need a $100K rig or a passport to find adventure.
I’m not here to be a content king or social media bro. I’m here to build a little community around curiosity, capability, and growth. Maybe even earn enough to pay for the gas and gear while I’m at it.
